Effects & Properties

Strength Diuresis: The kidneys filter more efficiently, the urinary tract is thoroughly flushed, and pathogens lose their foothold in the mucous membrane. In addition, antispasmodic on the muscles of the urinary and bile ducts—ideal for flushing out kidney stones. Active ingredients: flavonoids (sinensetin), essential oils, potassium salts.

Features: diuretic, purgative, laxative, antispasmodic, antimicrobial.

Applications

Orthosiphon stamineus for kidney problems

In cases of kidney disease, the kidney’s filtration capacity is impaired—metabolic waste products and toxins accumulate in the blood. Thanks to its flavonoids and potassium salts, cat’s whiskers significantly boost diuresis: the kidney filters a greater volume of blood per unit of time, and the excretion of uric acid and other harmful substances improves. The body cleanses itself more efficiently.

Cat's whiskers for urinary tract infections

In urinary tract infections, bacteria colonize the mucous membranes of the urinary tract. Cat's whiskers combat this mechanically: the drastically increased urine volume thoroughly flushes out the urinary tract—bacteria are washed away from the mucous membrane and find it harder to reattach. At the same time, the flushing reduces the bacterial load and relieves the immune system, allowing it to combat the remaining pathogens more efficiently.

Orthosiphon stamineus for kidney stones

Kidney grit forms when mineral salts are deposited in the renal pelvis and form small granules. Cat's whiskers work in two ways here: The increased diuresis boosts urine flow and mechanically flushes the loose gravel out of the renal pelvis. The antispasmodic effect on the urinary tract muscles ensures that the gravel can pass through the urinary tract unimpeded without triggering spasms. Important: Always make sure to drink enough water.
